RE: Windows Update returns a page saying "UNDEFINED"

Hi,
Are you able to browse the Internet? If so have you tried visiting the URL
HTTP://microsoft.com/windowsupdate
You can install all the critical updates from this site.Also ensure that
you have logged into the computer with the user rights of an administrator.

Also, Have you tried the suggestions on the Windows Update Troubleshooter?

Try the following suggestions:
Scan Hangs at 0%
and
Scan for updates freezes or stops at 0%

In addition, this can also happened if an installed program is intercepting
the Windows
Update process. Here's a knowledge base article with a list of some known
programs:

For testing purposes you may try temporarily disabling any web enhancement
and/or accelerator programs before accessing the site.

Hello Sree,

Thank you! Your listed suggestions gave me the fix. First, I removed my virus software, but this did not help. Then I searched for the "Scan hangs at 0%". This told me to install the latest scripting engine 5.6. I did this, then my problem was fixed! I guess I did not relate my error "UNDEFINED" to be the same as message "Scan hangs at 0%".
Thanks so much, I would not have been able to fix this without your help.
