For a temporary workaround do this ...
go to Start > Run > type in
net stop wuauserv
Click OK
Navigate to the WINDOWS\Software Distribution\DataStore\Logs folder
Delete ALL contents of it.
Now do the same for the Download folder
Close the window and go back to Start > Run > type in
net start wuauserv
Click OK
If the CPU issue does not reappear and the system can successfully
negotiate Windows Update, then empty the Recycle Bin.
It will reappear again until the issue is resolved by MS.

I doubt the issue was caused by Dell and MS *should* supply the specific
update at no charge. But, as I've written above, it will come back in
spite of the 'specific update' being installed.
