re. windows update won't update

Thanks to TaurArian for the very useful reply.

The error I get in windowsupdate.log is 0x80004002 (see last lines copied
below) so I will chase this up on the site.

Also, the CD-RW issue was solved completely with that link - thanks again
TaurArian for the swift response and help - much appreciated.

With IE CLOSED, open Internet Options in the Control Panel
Click the Programs tab
Click the Manage Add-ons button
Scroll down to WUWebControl Class
It's Status should show as Enabled
Click once on it to highlight it
Now click the Update ActiveX button at the bottom right

Close the Manage Add-ons and Internet Properties windows
Try WU once more
