Perhaps that is the reason for the error?
Where are you looking for it?
FWIW I have it in: %ProgramFiles%\WindowsUpdate\V4\iuhist.xml
Hmm... backing up one level I see a bunch of *.xml files which
might be used to derive iuhist.xml. IOW iuhist.xml may only
be an artifact of the presentation of that information to the user.
Did you actually request to see the log before looking for it
on your harddrive?
One possible approach to testing that idea would be to use FileMon
(freeware from SysInternals) to monitor for: update
(assuming that that would catch references both to files in the above
directory and to the Windows Update.log file which we are quoting
from now.)
