Karen, I sometimes see the same symptom, and then find myself sharing your
sentiment re Wm. I don't understand a firm that has millions of customers
yet can't be bothered swiftly to fix the bugs in its software - even when
it's free!

Problems with mail clients are often caused by recent updates to
third party security programs. Most of the regulars here have no
or very few issues with Windows Live Mail, since we either use more
compatible security programs or else know how to tame the more
aggressive ones.

Incidentally, kindly configure your Eset security program so it does
not add the gratuitous footer to every outgoing email or post.

Thanks, Gary, I clearly have some catching up to do and have made a start by
removing the Eset footer - this to test that it's gone, with the taming
process hopefully to follow.
