It's difficult to say based on the information provided. If they're not
downloading, then they won't install, so we'll focus our efforts on why it
appears the machines are not downloading updates.

If the clients are detecting and reporting correctly, but not downloading
(and installing),
my first questions would be this:
1. Have you approved the updates for installation?
2. Have you approved the updates for installation for the group(s) that the
DMZ machines belong to?
3. Do those machines actually belong to the groups they're supposed to?

To troubleshoot further, we'll need to see the WindowsUpdate.log showing:
[a] the detection (successful)
[b] the download (failure)
[c] the reporting (successful)

to all these 3 point is the answer YES. The same groups belongs partial
machines from local network those can pull and install updates without any
problems

Why do your content links point to http://wsusserver

and your WSUS Server URL is http://wsusserver.server.com???

The reason why is because the http://wsusserver is provided by the *SERVER*,
and the http://wsusserver.server.com is a FQDN configured in the policy --
which really shouldn't need to be a FQDN unless the connection is being made
across multilple domains.

Since the client cannot resolve 'wsusserver.server.com', either the DNS is
not configured correctly, or this client does not have the correct DNS
suffix(es) configured.

If IIS and DNS are properly configured *both* should be resolvable by DNS,
and it's only necessary to use the http://wsusserver form of the URL.


And, ultimately, this is why it's good to look at the whole log, and not
just one error code...

The core issue is all tied up in the defective DNS issues:

Yeah.. well.. since your specific error is what it is, you're going to need
to provide the ACTUAL unedited logfiles, or nobody here is going to be able
to help you any further. (And this is why I generally don't offer to help
anybody who isn't willing to provide *real* information!)

No, it's not, you just unnecessarily masked the REAL problem by providing
additionally defective artificial information.

The *ERROR* however is exactly what it is -- it's a defect in DNS
resolution.

Whether that defect is caused by the DNS *server*, or caused by a defective
URL, cannot yet be determined in this thread.
