Is KB952672 listed in Add/Remove Programs under Windows XP - SOftware
Updates ?
Is KB927978 listed by itself as MSXML 4.0 SP2 (KB927978) ?
If so, uninstall KB952672 and then restart the system.
Uninstall KB927978; restart the system.
Then reinstall KB927978 ONLY as it SUPERCEDES KB925672.
Restart the system

Did that resolve the issue ?
