Would you ignore a product recall for your 2007 automobile due to fears that
the fix might cause a problem? Would you ignore the recall of a
contaminated food product due to fears that another food item might make you
sick, too?
For you consideration:
1. A machine that is not fully patched is NOT safe to use and should NOT be
connected to the internet or any networks.
2. No Charge Support for all critical security updates and for WinXP SP3 is
available 24/7, /should/ the need arise (doubtful).
3. No-Charge Support for WinXP SP3 installation and compatibility issues was
scheduled to end on 14 April 2009 but has been extended...but this extension
is NOT going to be indefinite.
4. If WinXP SP3 isn't installed by July 2010, your computer will NOT be
offered any further critical security updates.
