Hi, I have a Notebook with Vista preinstalled (ACER), but I sent it to
warranty and they changed the motherboard, now Vista is asking to reactivate
but by internet can't be done. I want to do it by phone, but Vista shows that
I have to call the manufacturer (ACER) of the Notebook, not the Microsoft
Activation Center, I called ACER Support and hava given me the wrong
solutions (Reinstall Vista, Flash The Bios, etc) If I am not mistaken, this
is a VIsta issue because of the change in hardware,

What would be the process to complete the Activation?

Hello Juan,

You should still be able to activate your Vista by Phone with a OEM
copy.

Hope this helps,

ACER is your only recourse to get Vista to activate. MS won't do
anything except tell you to call ACER.

Ain't activating grand? If you were to use Ubuntu, you wouldn't have to
worry about activating or becoming "genuine". Check it out at www.ubuntu.com

Activating Vista even if OEM is done through MS. Use the phone number supplied for activation and activate explaining your reason(s)

If you were desperate enough to install Ubuntu, all your current programs
won't work with that crappy OS they call Ubuntu. Since Ubuntu and their
associated programs are all Open Source, that means they are lacking quite a
few functions that the REGULAR programs offer. Best not to mess with
Ubuntu.

Remember Ubuntu is FREE and NOBODY wants it. Imagine a FREE product that
people try, figure out how crappy it is and remove it within hours or days
of installation. That should tell you how BAD Ubuntu is. Don't go near it
at all.
