reading/writing HDD every second

hi there

i am using vista as a HTPC
the setup i have should more than cope with it, i have a gigabite 780
board 4gb ram 2 750 7200 drives
i have all my movies on the d drive, but when i am playing them o
mounting an iso with daemon tools, when the movies is being watched i
'jitters' or 'sticks' every second it seems.
i have looked in task manager etc, abut nothing seems to be doin
anything untoward.
having read afew postsw on here, it sounds like it might be th
indexing service..??
i wsa going to turn it off, as i have everything wonderfully organised
and dont need an indexer to search for stuff, certianly on that drive a
any rate..

any suggestions on what this might be?
literally every second, whilst the pc is sitting idle

fricking annoying it is and no mistake
