Ready Boost Option No Longer Appears

Hi,

I got a new HP laptop with Vista pre-loaded and 1GB RAM. I installed a
Readyboost-certified Sandisk 2GB flash drive and the popup offered to speed
up the system with Readyboost. Most of the time I did not use it because it
required re-inserting the drive to get the option.

Two weeks have passed and lots of updates to the OS and other programs have
taken place. The popup no longer offers Readboost. I tried another new
identical flash drive with the same result. Installing to another usb port
does not fix the problem.

Vista runs fast and with no problems.

How the heck can I get Readyboost running again?

Thanks,

Mike

Check that it hasn't been turned off for that USB device

If autoplay is turned of you don't get the popup asking whether to use it or
not.

Autoplay works fine, it's just that the RB option does not show for one
flash drive. I have RB working with an identical drive now so it does not
matter.

Thanks for your input.

Mike

Hello,

I am experiencing the same problem with ReadyBoost. The readyboost
option came when I plugged in my USB drive for the first time. I just
ignored it then, and since then I am not able to get this option again
whenever I plug in this drive.

This same drive shows readyboost option on my friends laptop, but not
on mine.

Any help regarding this issue will be highly appreciated.

Regards,
Bunny
