Really Shutting down auto-update in Windows 2003 Server?

I can't seem to shut it off. The patches which came available a few days
ago (I'll document them in another post), corrupt our load balancing setup
in some way.

I followed the directions to turn off autoupdate (it opens a Web page with a
checkbox option), rebooted, and the update again occurred last night at 3
AM. Our Load Balancing again dropped off the map.

TIA

Harry

Details?

Without any further details I suspect that you only used the AU settings
dialog to indicate that you don't want to use it. This does not stop the service
however, so unless you are doing that I think it could still be checking
(though not informing you.) I'm not sure if it is sufficient to just leave it marked
Manual (instead of Automatic) or not. If you really want not to have it
I would mark it Disabled.

Check your log to see what is happening?

It may help to elaborate on what this means
or cross-post to a newsgroup which knows.
