Without any further details I suspect that you only used the AU settings
dialog to indicate that you don't want to use it. This does not stop the service
however, so unless you are doing that I think it could still be checking
(though not informing you.) I'm not sure if it is sufficient to just leave it marked
Manual (instead of Automatic) or not. If you really want not to have it
I would mark it Disabled.
Check your log to see what is happening?
