But my desktop is back top XP.

I have a Dell XPS Gen 4, 2005 model, 3.6 GHz with 4 gigs of RAM, and with
onboard Intel RAID. I had a RAID 1 setup with mirrored drives.

I loaded Vista business and ran for a few weeks. I was constantly having
slowness problems. Found out one of my RAID drives would go offline. I
even had a total crash, but had a Ghost image to come back from. Dell had
no clue, other than to say they sold it with XP so that is all they will
support. The sent me two new SATA drives to try just in case it was
hardware. The next day, lost another drive.

After much searching, I find out the RAID controller and Vista do not play
well together. No mention of this in the Microsoft audit program that
checks for readiness.

I am back to XP Pro now, and the system runs like a top.

I have a new Dell D630 notebook with Vista Ultimate and love it. Guess I
will have to wait until I replace the desktop to get Vista on my primary
system.

This is just FYI if you have an XPS Gen 4 with RAID.
