James, be aware, that many P2P applications have built-in software bits and
pieces like fx. ad-ware, that pose a potential security thread to your
system (or your personal information residing on your system). I had KaZaa
installed for a while (while still on WinXP Pro SP1), and before installing
Symantec's Norton Internet Security (containing a firewall, antivirus and
other great stuff). When I installed Norton Internet Security 2004 + Norton
System Works 2004 (System Doctor, SpeedDisk etc.), I suddenly had tons of
warnings of what was REALLY going on on my system.
Other great tools to spot adware (and other behind-the-scene things, that
are installed) is X-Setup from
