Rearrange shortcuts on Quick Launch Bar

I have got used to having the shortcuts in my quick launch bar staying where
I put them.

Just recently they keep being rearranged. They will stay in the same
position for one session but when I switch on in the morning they are in a
different place.

Can anybody tell me why, or more particularly tell me how to get them to
behave.

Yesterday I unlocked the task bar. rearranged the shortcuts manually, then
locked the task bar again. All was well until I switched on this morning.

Could this be anything to do with 2 recent but abortive attempts by
Microsoft to install Vista SP1.

Not sure why, but here's how: rename each shortcut so as to prefix them 01
02 03 etc, and then they will arrange themselves in the correct order when
something upsets them. Doug

Further thought: while you are about it you might shorten the names of the
shortcuts and open their properties and modify (or better still totally
remove) the annoying comment lines. Doug
