My desktop Dell goes into a quiesed mode if left idle for an hour or more.
I don't know whether this is called sleep mode or hibernation. I can usually
bring it back to life by pressing the space bar or other keys. But about a
third of
the time I get no response when I press the keys. The power light light is
on on
the processor, and the monitor shows the amber light, but I am forced to do a
cold restart. Is there anything I can do to get around this?

The hybrid sleep feature and the hibernation feature in Windows Vista may
become unavailable after you use the Disk Cleanup Tool :
