Rebuilding XP from SP2

Hi

Why is it that after having rebuilt a PC with Windows XP SP2 I have to
install patch upon patch, and even patches that patch the previous patches ?
This really takes such a long time, that I'd contemplate downloading the lot
to create a slip disk ....but in doing so am I breaking any form of
copyright ?

Because, patch upon patch has been released since your service pack 2 CD was
released. Take a look at www.autopatcher.com for an alternate method of
installing updates after a fresh install.
