Hi,
I posted the problem some time ago.
I got the advice reinstalling my AVG without the option e-mail scanning and
everthing went fine for +/- one week.

Now the same account is receiving sometimes messages and it only stops by
forcing it ...again synchronisation and then it is fine.

My accounts are POP3 and no hotmails!

Strang? A bug in WLM?

Who can help, where have i look?

Regards
Huib

Who provides the mail service? Yahoo, Gmail, your ISP, etc.?

If you look at your mail using the mail service's web mail, do you see
these messages in the Inbox folder there?

In Tools, Accounts, Mil, Properties, Advanced, do you have Leave a copy
of messages on the server enabled?

WLM does that be default for POP3 accounts. If you don't need to do
that, uncheck the option.

Hi,
My provider is an official Telephone Compagny using POP3 (no hotmails)
There are no mails on the web mail
I do not leave messages on server and in WLM they are unchecked.

Then perhaps you have a symptom indicating a problem with your sender?
E.g. presumably you see these messages as being identical?
Are they really? Check the headers to see. E.g. if you see different timestamps
suggesting different routing you will know that they are not identical,
just later copies of the same thing from somewhere on the path to you.
The fact that a message is not stuck in your server suggests it is stuck
elsewhere, further back on the path. Again, the headers could give you
a clearer idea of exactly where a message is stuck and thus about who
to notify if it needs to be unstuck.

Hi,
Thanks for the interest.
The strang thing is that i am not receiving "real messages", i see no
headers only a counter which is running and never stops until I manually
force it.
And the point is that it is mostly the same account (only used for news
messages) , so i was first suspecting that account than i saw it happed also
on other accounts and now again only on the earlier one.

I have no idea how you expected people to infer that fact
from your previous symptom descriptions!

So, is it in fact a News account and not E-mail at all?
If so, there is nothing unusual about seeing counts
changing when updating news accounts. It just means
that the server isn't giving the news client very precise
information via the 211 reply to group message.
You could use troubleshooting logging for news
to see if the server was being erratic with its use of
numbers in that case.

I think you are going to have to be a lot more precise
in describing your symptoms. Remember, your words
have to substitute for what our eyes might notice. ; ]

Hi,
It is a real e-mail account which I am only using to reveive information
from a website which is sending information if one has subscribed to it.

By "previous" i ment what i also explained some days ago where i got from
Gary the technical information to reinstall my AVG without e-mail scanning
....but this didn't finally help.

Earlier I had the same problem on my normal account on which i only send and
receive messages

Where are you seeing the counter of messages when this happens? Is
there any title to this?

If there are no messages on the POP3 server inbox, then WLM can't even
try to download them. When WLM (or any POP3 mail client for that
matter) connects to a POP3 mail server, it asks the server how many
messages are available for download.

You mention that anti-virus e-mail scanning has not been installed. Do
you have nay anti-spam software installed on the PC. That could also
cause problems.

Hi,
At the moment of synchronisation i see only the related e-mail account and "
message + number" who continously is increasing at high speed.
The AVG has a SPAM - filter (with version 9.0 the Windows Defender is kicked
out) , but as far as i do know the SPAM can not be omitted.
I just noticed another strang thing: a few normal messages to my standard
e-mail acount were also mentioned under that famous e-mail account ...how
that is possible no idea ...could there be any link?
Regards
Huib

I'm still not clear on WHERE you are see the number.

Is this in a pop-up dialog? If so, what does the Title of the dialog
say? Or somewhere on the WLM screen?

Can you press Print Screen when it happens to catch the image and paste
into Paint (or another image editor) to save as a JPG file?

You also say " a few normal messages to my standard e-mail acount were
also mentioned under that famous e-mail account ". What does that mean?
That the messages show up in a folder in the other account?

You also mention that
"It is a real e-mail account which I am only using to reveive
information from a website which is sending information if one has
subscribed to it." Do you mean that this is a website that you own
that other people subscribe to? Or that this is a web site that someone
else owns that you subscribed to?

That are the POP3 server names of your mail accounts ("normal" one and
problem one)?
