When I run Windows Update on my XPSP2 I get this error code: 0x8DDD0018 and
says to remedy the problem I need to make sure these three services are
running:
Automatic Updates
Back Ground Intelligent Transfer service
Event Log Logs
All three services are running, but still get this error message of no
Windows update for Me. What other services does windows update need?

Hi

Is the "Automatic Updates" service set to "Startup type"
Automatic (it needs to be)?

I was getting error 0x8DDD0018 and could find no help till I found this post
from Torgeir Bakken (MVP)

I was able to use Windows Update with the settings below

Automatic Updates must be set to Automatic
Back Ground Intelligent Transfer service can be Manual but must be started
Event Log Logs can also be set to Manual but must be started

These settings worked for me as well. I don't know why because the office
updates were working fine.
