Hi There,

I need your help.

An email seems like sent by me I could not figure out how. It is not
in my sent mail folder. Also it does not contain my email signature
and sent without any word in subject line.

I was using windows live messenger, after sending my last sentence, I
figured out she is offline and closed the chat window. Later on I have
been told that she got an email from me that I didnt send.. without
subject and my email signature in it.

Would you please help me to find out how it can be? How can she receive my
last chat sentence as an email to her hotmail account? Even if I clicked the
link on top of the chat window " email this contact instead" by mistake, I
didn't see any notification for outgoing email.

It will be a great help since I'm having trouble because of this specific
email message.

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Muharrem

Greetings,

Although I haven't seen it happen in awhile, sometimes offline messages are received in the
Hotmail inbox of the person receiving them as the offline message store is actually the same
place Hotmail mail is stored. It's not your fault nor is anything malicious going on.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Is there a way to show/prove that it is so? Does it look different than a
real email sent by me? Since I am using my old email (gmail) as Windows Live
ID, it should be really impossible to log in my gmail account an send email
for Messenger I guess. So how come it can present a chat message as if I
sent it from my gmail account?

I'm asking further info since I'm about lo loose trust in me and those last
chat words sent as an email mean something else without rest of the sentence
in chat window unfortunately.

Thank you very much again.

with regards,
Muharrem

Hi,

E-mail can appear to be from anyone, that's one of the reasons why spam is such a big
problem. As such, when it gets sent as an offline message, it'll appear to be from your Live
ID. It's not touching GMail at all.

You can look through the headers in Live Mail by right-clicking on the e-mail in the list and
choosing View Source to confirm where it came from.
