I'm a new Vista user and want to know two things: (1) Will I automatically
get a message from Microsoft that there are recommended updates or do I have
to sign up for this somewhere? If so, where and please be specific? (2)
When trying to access a Help page for my Palm I got a notice that I had to
install an update but, despite considerable searching on the download page,
cannot find out how to do this? Please note, I'm soooo a non-techie.

If you've done nothing to change it, you are already set to have
Windows automatically download AND install updates when they become
available.

The update notice from your Palm was FOR your Palm... and it can be
found wherever the website is for that product. It will probably
download automatically when you hook up the device (just a guess).

It will not download automatically. You need to download it and install it. That how it worked on mine

Hi,
Go to the Control panel and select Windows updates. In the left hand column,
select
Change settings, Then select what you want. Personally, I select "Check for
updates but let me choose whether to download and install them".
