Recording Sound Output

Hi, in the latest version of WLM it seems they've disabled the abilit
to set computer sound output as a recording option, including Realtek'
'Stereo Mix' and Creative's 'What U Hear'. I'm guessing this is t
prevent people sending clips of copyrighted material, but often with th
'show what I'm listening to' feature people will ask you stuff lik
what's that sound like? and I don't see the harm in sending them a 1
second sample, which may (in the best circumstances) encourage them t
purchase it themselves. My friend's an apsiring musician, and likes t
send clips of his music for my opinion, and found this so frustrating h
downgraded to an earlier version. Besides, I doubt anyone's going t
send an entire song in voice clips and have someone reasemble it on th
other end, especially when it's so easy to send higher quality files o
copyrighted music anyway...
So my question is, does anyone know a way to circumvent this problem

Greetings Naton,

I hadn't noticed this, but I can confirm I'm seeing the same. I suspect though that it's
some sort of weird technical limitation as opposed to stopping copyrighted material - let's
face it, if you're sending copyrighted material you'll just send a file. As such, just
recording and sending is probably the best solution, although not as convenient as voice
clips.

Another possible solution, albeit non-free, would be to use something like Virtual Audio
Cable. Then set Messenger to use VAC as the input, and use it's AudioRepeater to repeat the
audio input into the virtual cable.
VAC can be found @ http://www.ntonyx.com/vac.htm

However, it's probably not worth all that effort just for that, when you can just send a MP3
(or similar).
