recovery disks

if i make a recovery disk exactly what data is included on it?
would it be everything up to that point, or from factory spec?

If you mean recovery disk from the hidden restore partition, in the process
recommended by the PC manufacturer, then its factory spec

Vista and Win7 offer to make a recovery disk. This will not produce a
Operatign System DVD from which you can install new. It makes only a
bootable Diagnostic Disc to let you repair a damaged Windows Installation
and lets you check for bad memory , lets you launch Windows Complete PC
Backup and so on.

The same functions are included on each retail Vista DVD, so it is only
useful for those that don't have any.

This is a Microsoft Tool, has nothing to do with "recovery disks" like we
know from Acer,IBM and so..
