Recycle Bin Woes

My recycle bin as stopped changing displays as it is filled and emptied. If
it shows empty and I delete something, it will show full. But then if I
"empty recycle bin", it continues to show full until I log off and then log
back on.

Not positive, but seems to have occurred after SP1 update. But maybe not.

Is there something like XP where you can just delete it in the file system
and it will be recreated upon reboot and be fixed? I did start to delete it
but got the warning about "this is a system file are you sure you want to
permanently delete it?" I was afraid to proceed until I checked here.

Anyone?

Thanks,

-Frank

Hi Frank,

Try fixing the icons for "Recycle Bin (empty)" and "Recycle Bin (full)" in the Desktop Icon Settings dialog. Don't click the "Restore Default" button. See:
