We just bought a new computer(eMachines) with Vista Home Premium. Everything
works just fine except our work webmail.

When my wife and I use work webmail we can read our emails just fine. BUT
when we try to reply, the window that opens to reply has a Red X in the body
of the email. =( there are installs from the work software which we have
downloaded in the past to allow email to function in XP. I tried doing the
same for Vista....still getting the Red X. It will not allow us to type
anything in the body of the email.

We use IE 7......still getting the Red X. Must be VISTA??????
My wife hates Firefox!!!!!!!

We never had this problem with XP Pro!

I use iNotes(Lotus) for work email and my wife uses Outlook 2003 for her
work email. We do about 80% of our email replies from home.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance. VERY frustrated Vista user.

Your problem is likely related to a setting in your security software,
either a firewall or a program like a popup stopper. Check all your
security programs and you'll find your problem.

Hi Jack,

It's not Vista, it's the exchange server. There is a patch for Outlook Web
Access here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911829, I do not know if the
creators of Lotus have issued the equivalent. The patch has to be applied to
the mail server, not your personal system.

Hi Roger & Carey,

Thanks for your responses.

I am wondering if it's not Vista...then how come I can access our webmail
just fine on our other PC running XP Pro?
The Vista PC ran just fine and would allow webmail access when I first got
it. This has got to be the most frustrating thing to figure out!
Your help is appreciated. Thank you.

If it's Outlook Web Access did you contact the manager about the update Rick
pointed to?

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for all your replies. Red X is gone in reply emails.

Seems that all my issues are due to Vista and IE 7. I installed the fix
called MS Outlook 2003 S/MIME in the options in webmail.

I got the fix for Outlook Webmail at this web site.
http://www.mustech.net/2007/02/windo...five-step-fix/

BUT NOW....when I try to reply or forward an email, it says that "IE 7 has
encountered a problem and will restart" =(
Not sure what the hell to do now. Everything works fine in Firefox, but my
wife is not happy using Firefox due to layout changes.
Now this is personal! =) any suggestions???

Thanks.....jack in NY
