Provided its a retail edition simply reinstall if you cannot use online
activation use phone and state that you have retired the origonal sys.
Strictly speaking the winxp is part of your Licence for the upgrade Vista,
and as such should not be used elsewhere.
However I understand the activation of the Vista upgrade editions is far
more stringent, and as such it may hold the key of qualifying version in its
activation process.
