redistributing all these updates

question: is there a way to gather all these updates on a cd and install
them from there? What I mean is that when I reformat/reinstall XP or 2k or
98 or whatever I have to trudge through the update process again. SP1/2 is
all well and good for most of this. But I'd like to have the updates more
easily installable. Downloading takes too long and if I can update from CD
I'd be quite happy.
