Reduce photo size in Vista?

It's easy to reduce the size of a photo for sending by email, but that
always creates a new email message. It's also easy to attach the original
photo to an email message that has already been created by the user. But,
if I have already created an email, how do I reduce a photo in size and
attach it to that user-created email?

I know I could copy and paste the contents of the user-created email into
the system-created email, but I don't want to do that (eg, I want to reply
to an existing email message and retain it in the same conversation thread).

I also know that I could reduce the image size by going into Photoshop or
IrfanView etc, but is there a way I can do it from within Vista?

Open Photo Gallery, select the image, right click it and on the contextual
menu click 'Resize'.

No 'Resize' option in my R-click menu in Photo Gallery either. Any other
ideas, Andre (or anyone else)?

Hmm must be new in Live Photo Gallery 2008 and the 2009 beta. In Vista's
Photo Gallery, the only resize option I see available is when you click
email. If you download the new version, you get additional resize features I
mentioned earlier.

The newer Windows Live Photo Gallery beta has a "resize".
It also has more features than WPG.

You can use Paint. It has an Image | Resize menu item.

Lindsay
I am asking the same question that you have but I do not really see th
answer to the problem of how to reduce the photo size when you want t
attach a picture to an email that is user-created? Did you ever ge
another response? I am new to the Forum and not sure I am seeing all o
the responses correctly. In Outlook, when I selected "file attachmen
and then chose a photo, it always asked "do you want to change the size
I always reduced it. This option is not available on the Vista Hom
premium version I have on my brand new desktop. I saw something about
newer version of Live gallery but not sure I can download that. Pleas
send any fixes my way. Thanks
