redundance cycle check!!!!!! need help!!!!

i have a external drive and i can't acces to any of my files.....can you tell
me what do i need to do to fix this

On the optimistic side, bad connection between the external drive and
the USB/Firewire port. Not-so-optimistic, bad electronics of the box
but the hard drive can be salvaged and put into another box. On the
pessimistic side, the hard drive has bad blocks and/or has crashed.

This is not a windows update issue but a hardware issue, so you are posting
in the wrong group

you should check your drive for errors with the manufacturers utillity like
fotr instance maxtor has the powermax tool, which brand of hard drive is in
the case?

It might be the partition is unrecognizable for windows,try a HD recovery
tool for your hard drive many to be found:
