redundant security updates every day

I am running Windows 2000 and use Windows Update software, running in the
automatic update mode.
For the past 8 days (including today, Feb 28, 2006), the Windows Update
program has installed the identical software. When I view my update history,
it lists this as:
"Security Update, February 13, 2002 (MSXML 4.0)"
and it has a green check mark every day indicating successful installation.
I note that this upgrade is 4 years old (2002). Why does it keep installing
itself day after day (and thereby forcing me to stop what I'm doing, close
all my applications, and restart my computer)?
Thanks.

It successfully installs on my computer every day, then for some reason it
installs again the next day and I have to restart my computer.
