Reflection problems with laptop.

I may be in the wrong place here - if so, I apologise.

Has anyone tried the stick-on film that claims to reduce glare and
reflections on a laptop? Does it work? Does it do any harm to the screen if
it's removed? Is there a better method? Any particular brand recommendations?

I hope to be in sunnier climes in the winter and have suffered previously
from sunlight reflecting when I try to use a laptop outside.
