Hi
Have had a lot of trouble with trojans and corrupted registry, I have
tried the dell restore to factory settings but that hasnt worked, I
guess I need to totally re-formatt my comp like I used to do on XP but
they never gave me any disks. I have the Vista Product key but have no
idea how to do it when I have no disks.
PC world will charge £35 I think

any advice please?

Factory restore WILL fix your problem. You did something wrong - but
it's hard to imagine what it could have been.

usually if there is a restore partition, it gives you the option to do a
non-destructive restore, or a complete, destructive restore.
the destructive option formats and resets everything to the 'out of box'
condition.
