hello,

I am in serious danger of having to make a minor change to the registry, and
am a bit nervous. I know that there is 'regedit' and I know how to start it.
I will read some on-line articles 1st.

Are there any 3rd-party progs which might be safer / easier to use ?

Thanks

K

Before making any changes to the registry, back up your registry: Run:
Regedit. On the File tab (upper left) click on Export. Name your file
(.reg will be the extension) and note the save to location. Click OK

To be extra safe, create a restore point in system restore. If anything
goes wrong, you have two backups to safely restore the registry.

Good luck

Thanks for the advice, I had intended to save the registry, but the restore
point is a very good idea.
