Registering .dll's

Hey I'm trying to register the files:

ad2mcmpgdec
ad2mpegin

using regsvr32

When I drag the file it says "The module
'C:\Users\Fred\Desktop\ad2mpegin.dll' was loaded but the entry-point
DllRegisterServer was not found.

Make sure that 'C:\Users\Fred\Desktop\ad2mpegin.dll' is a valid DLL or
OCX file and then try again."

I've also tried opening regsvr32 to mess with it but it won't let me do
that either. I'm guessing that I need to perform a command in command
prompt but I don't know what that is. I have tried [\i[:cmdline]]
ad2mpegin

But that didn't work. Help plz. I'm sure the command is known by
someone. (I tried the command line in command prompt obviously).

Start / All Programs / Accessories / right click Command Prompt and select
Run As Administrator

at the prompt type:

regsvr32 ad2mcmpgdec.dll and hit enter. You should be told that registration
succeeded. If so do the same for the other dll

Not all .dlls need to be registered. Just place the ones that won't in the
correct directory.

The messages you are getting from regsvr32 are not necessarily problematic.
As Jon noted, the placement of the files in the right folder may be of more
benefit. Maybe this link will help:

ya I put them in the System32 folder and then I registered them. Now
instead of getting an error message about those 2 DLL files, the file
simply won't work (I'm using The Core Media Player). I assume that I
just need to get the codecs now. Taking Mischabobs advice for the vista
package. I think I might need divx too tho after I instal the vista
package.
