Registering PowerPoint Viewer in Windows Mail (Vista Business Edition)

I have a client that has downloaded and installed PowerPoint Viewer in Vista
Business edition, sp1. The file type association for .pps files is fine in
Windows and the user can double click on a PowerPoint presentation and it
views just fine.

However, from within Windows Mail, the association does not work. If the
user tries to open a .pps attachment, it tells him that there is no program
associated with this file type.

Anyone know why?????

Hi BobS,

Fixing a registry key would resolve the problem. See:

Unable to open .PPS attachments directly from Windows Mail in Windows Vista:

I don't use Windows Mail, so this is a guess. You might need to make an
association inside of Windows Mail in addition to the normal association in
Windows.

Since I don't use the program, I can't tell you where to look...

Good luck.

This is a bug within windows mail. Look in the options to open a file and
associate the attachment.
