You could export registry keys from a client that has the correct settings and then do a reg import of the exported keys either through a login script or manually. See the following TechNet article for the registry keys you are looking for:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...49(WS.10).aspx

I've done this in the past, and it works beautifully! Good luck.

Auto Matic Update Service disabled in OS image
18-Oct-09

Hi All

I am faced with a situation for which I need a easiest & fastest rout
to resolution; close to 100 machines that were imaged from on OS image
have their Automatic Update service disabled! I need to get that up &
running so that they can connect back to WSUS as currently they are
neither connecting to WSUS nor answering back to any query re updates
(through MBSA or WUL for example)!
How can I get the service on these machines started?

Best Regards
H
