Hi All,
I installed a few MS updates on my laptop running Vista Home and now when I
go to a web site I can move the curser around but it does not let me click
on any links. Can't even click on the X in the top right of the screen to
get out of IE. I must Ctrl, Alt, Del, to get out of it.
Was told to reinstall IE but how is that done? Any help is appreciated.

A PS to my post. If I go to AOL I can surf the web just fine. No problems
there only if I open IE and try to click on any links.

Click the Vista start button and look for the Internet Explorer icon.
Right-click on the IE icon and select:

Internet Properties > Advanced (tab) > Reset

Have you tried it with Firefox?

Get rid of AOLHell and the problem will go away. Unfortunately, getting
rid of AOLHell involves wiping the hard drive and reinstalling Windows.

As Alias posted. Reformat your system to get rid of AOL. This proprietary ISP(AOL)
will tend to do this kind of issues among many

Who told you to reinstall IE and what were they smoking? (IE cannot be
reinstalled in Vista.)

What updates did you install?

What anti-virus application or security suite is installed and is your
subscription current? What anti-spyware applications (other than
Defender)? What third-party firewall (if any)?

Has a Norton or McAfee application ever been installed on this machine
(e.g., a free-trial version that came preinstalled when you bought
it)?

the first thing to try is right click the IE Icon on the desktop and select
'start without addons'.
If it works, you would need to disable/enable addons until you find out
which one is causing the trouble.
If it doesn't work with no addons you need to do a malware and virus scan.
If clean, go to Internet Properties, advanced tab, and click the reset
button at the bottom.
If still no joy, post back.
