Reinstall SP2: Windows Update does not allow.

Hi,

I have recently installed SP2 for my Windows-XP Professional using Windows
Update. Due to some brower related problem I un-installed it from the control
panel of my system. Now system reports that it is properly re-instated to SP1.

I want to re-install SP-2 but my Windows update reports there are no
updates to install. It still thinks that my system is uptodate with SP-2,
while my system has been already downgraded sucessfully to SP-1.

Could someone out there help me out to get around this problem.

Secondly is there any reliable download manager that I can use in-case I
need to manually download and apply SP-2, which helps me download this patch
in multiple sessions, should my session disconnect in between.

Try to uninstall again. Go to control-panel Add or Remove programs. if
nothing there, check the windows registry.

As for good download manager, there are quite plenty out there such
as: Getright, Flashget, download accellarator, download studio, etc.
They ranges from containing spy-ware, unreliable, slower than nothing
having them, etc.

The one that I love most is "download studio" at
www.downloadstudio.com, not only they are reliable but also complete,
which enable u to do web-grabber, file-grabber, screen-capture in
video, photo-printing, etc.
