Reinstall VSS framework

Hi all,

Somehow my VSS framework is completely shredded. Details in this thread:

Originally i was just having trouble with the creation of automatic restore
points but i could do it manually. I tried some suggested fixes and now i've
lost all system restore abilities - including my restore points and even the
recovery environment's "revert to OEM status" option.

I want to know if there is any way to recover any of this. Can I do a
wholesale rebuild of the VSS registration? Can i reinstall the VSS framework?
Am i just f'd?

any help would be greatly appreciated
