Reinstalling SP2

I recently have had to reinstall all my security patches and have completed
all except SP2. I have Microsoft Windows XP 2002 and I when I try to
download SP2 package,
it starts to install it and then comes back and says "control ID not found".
Can anyone help me with this?

The only MSKB article that references that particular error message is this
one:

I also came across a thread in a forum (which forum I can't recall) where
the poster stated that following the advice in this MSKB article helped him
to solve the Control ID not found error message:

You receive an "Access is denied" error message when you try to install
Windows XP Service Pack 2
