Reliability monitor not functioning???

I've seen some errors on my computer using Windows Vista Ultimate, even STOP
errors, but when i checked the Reliability monitor it doesn't show me
ANYTHING, only this message appears in all categories:

"No events of the selected type are available for this time period."

....is supposed to be logging the error and information always, right??, so..
what's happening? must i enable it or what?? :s
