Oh mighty gurus of XP please help me fix a terrible blunder I made last year!

I originally had Norton Anti-Virus on my old computer when I bought my new
Dell with Home Edition XP. Of course it included McAfee Anti-Virus software
free with the XP package but silly me in my ineptitude I hauled off and
disinstalled the McAfee. Now that I'm back from almost a year not using my
own computer (busy traveling) I find my Norton is expired and I am currently
Anti-Virus less!

I need to know exactly what to do to find and download McAfee Anti-Virus
from Windows XP so I can restore my computer to it's original safety
configurations.

Remember that you're talking to a fairly intelligent, I can follow
directions person here--not a computer wizard by any means!

Thanking anybody in advance for whatever help they provide.

Judy:

Wrong News Group.

You want...
microsoft.public.windowsxp.general
or
microsoft.public.security.virus

Or better yet, the McAfee Forums...

You'll have to contact Dell support and ask them.

Welcome to Dell Support

Welcome to Dell Community Forums

Best Alternative:

Install Avast! antivirus program (FREE)

It was only a 3-month trial version of VirusScan and since it was installed
and running at one point, there's very little probability that you could
reinstall and use it again without subscribing.

Your options now include resubscribing to NAV or uninstalling it and
installing a new AV app.
