Reminder changes made on device do not sync to desktop

When i edit a reminder or dismiss it on my device, it does not sync to
desktop!

The issue is that i get about 15 reminders a day on my device which i either
postpone the reminder time OR i dismiss it. When i sync, these changes are
not carried to the desktop. The desktop pops up all the reminders and then i
have to try and remember what changes i made to each of the reminder.
Sometimes I sync after 3 days in which case i end up with atleast 25
reminders!!! I posted this on TREO forums and heard that this is the way its
supposed to behave and there is nothing wrong! I was even ready to upgrade to
HTC touch pro with Windows 6.1 and was informed that even HTC OR any other
mobile device using the windows mobile platform does not sync reminder
changes (and dismisses) from device to desktop!

If this is the way its designed then my question is what is the logic behind
this VERY UN-USERFRIENDLY feature and is microsoft going to fix it?

Also want to point out that I only sync with one desktop. I never had this
problem when i was using DELL Axim x50v. When i synced my dell axim with my
desktop, i could see all the reminders in the pop up window on the desktop
dissappear. So this did work on the same platform on a different device.

Todd: This was probably the best explanation i got! Now it makes perfect
sense. I have never used exchange sync so never came accross this scenario
since i sync with on PC and no one else uses my PC! I totally understand that
most of these devices sync through exchange OTA so this feature makes
perfect sense. And I am a big proponent of the word "different" that you used
rather than saying right or wrong!

Anyhow I did have one question regarding this sentence of yours.....

"Similarly, I don't want my wife or kids' dismissmal of a
eminder on the home PC to propagate to my mobile and silence a needed
alert- it might be something important I have to do!"

Did you just say this as a feature that would be good OR is this the way it
works now? The reason i ask is because right now any changes i make on the
desktop sync to my device - once the reminder is edited or dismissed on PC
it DOES propagate to my device on the next sync. Again my syncing is direct
PC to device over BT. Does that make a difference?

Thanks!

Hi,
The responses to a reminder are NOT synchronized. This is by design and
Microsoft has not made any announcement about any changes.

I've seen this for years.

Not sure if this is the right topic, but hopefully you clever people can help
me!
How do I get my WM6 device (an IPAQ 514) to Sync OTA with my exchange server
when I'm mobile?
Works fine when via Active Sync USB cable, but when I'm mobile Active Sync
won't sync, telling me my internet connection settings are incorrect.
They seem to work fine for browsing the net etc via GPRS...
Any help would be great...
Cheers
John
