Reminders question..

Hi I have windows calender set to remind me of appointments even if it's not
open. My question is if I have a date set for a birthday for instance and I
have it set on a yearly reminder and a 1 week reminder. I want it to remind
me 1 week prior to a birthday that I have put on the calender. Is this
possible? If so what should I do? Thanks ahead of time.

you only get reminders at bootup
or logon, when calendar is not normally running.

So as long as I shut the computer off every night and then restart in the AM
then it will show the reminders?
