Yes.

No.

In WLMail, Go to the Calendar screen, then click Tools | Deliver my
reminders to...
and you'll see what I mean.

Windows Live Mail(current version) has a Calendar.
Add an event, the configure the time for the 'Reminder'

That's always been a squirrely redirect, I filed this one a long time ago.

e.g. If logged on with one Live ID in WLM and another in IE..the Delivery options for email notification will be for the Live ID in
use in IE( i.e. you might not get the sign on prompt for the Live ID in use in WLM). Furthermore once arriving at the web interface
Delivery options, if one clicks on 'Edit Email settings' the result is the Live ID's registration information or a stalled attempt
to redirect to the registration information(Loading....).

Same results today...many months later

It kind of looks as if there's no pop-up notification/reminder box about
events like Outlook had - unless you have messenger running, I guess.

I have a question. I just began using Windows 7 and Windows Live Mail. I am
trying to set up my calendar. When I used a calender under Outlook and under
Microsoft Works, I could set it up to give me a reminder about certain
events. I cannot figure out how to do that with Windows Live Mail. Someone
said to go to "tools" but I am unable to find a "tools" to click on in
windows live mail. What am I missing? Any other tips for a new user would
also be helpful. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

To permanently display the "Menu Bar" (which has the "Tools" item) click on
the center icon on the top far right of your main screen (between the
paintbrush and ? icons) and select to "Show Menu Bar". You'll then see
"Tools", and others.

I have just converted to Win7 and by necessity, since Win7 is not compatible
with Outlook, have had to upgrade to WLM. I have read several posts in this
forum and I get the impression that Microsoft have totally boobed in this
version of Calendar. Not only can you not import your calendar entries (or
any thing else for that matter) from Outlook, it does not duplicate the
simplest of tasks that Outlook could accomplish - like reminding you a set
period before an appointment. I do not want to use Messenger, I do not want
to use Hotmail, I do not want to hold my appointments in some remote part of
of the world, I simply want my own computer (that knows my local time ) to
alert me. Outlook has been able to do this for the last 10 years!

Come on Microsoft - hire in a student for a couple of weeks - I bet he could
resolve this simple requirement!

What makes you think Windows 7 is not compatible with Outlook?
Just like Vista, it is compatible with Outlook 2003 and later versions.
