Remote Access - Live Messenger

I live in Birmingham, AL. My mother lives in Atlanta, GA. Yesterday, I
drove to my mother's home to set up Live Messenger on her notebook computer
so I could connect to her computer via Remote Access. Her computer accesses
the internet using ATT via a wireless router. I tied onto her wireless
account and we set up Live Messenger on her system, set up Remote Assistance,
and it worked perfectly between her notebook and my notebook. However, once
I returned to Birmingham and tried to connect to her system via Remote Access
using my 'wired' ATT connection, we cannot connect. After I "Accept" her
invitation to enable Remote Access.....after a period of time.....a message
appears stating: A Remote Assistance connection could not be
established. You may want to check for network issues or determine if the
invitation expired or was cancelled by the person who sent it." Can anyone
tell me what I need to do to make it work from my home in Birmingham.

Hi,

Just to chime in, UPnP with any router is key to making this work. Additionally, some
broadband modems automatically have their own NAT and need to be placed into bridging mode
(although it doesn't sound like that's the case here).

It's funny, Vista RA is supposed to be far superior connectivity wise, but in practice, I see
exactly the same thing (that XP is far easier to make work).
