Trying to connect between two Vista systems

I have two vista systems here at my location...
the vista system requesting assistance is over the internet, have tried
with file through the program itself and tried msn messenger

I have tried both of my vista systems and can't connect to the one over
the net, get this message after entering in the password, instead of the
other user over the net getting the yes/no prompt to proceed, I get this
message:

"The person you are trying to help might have closed Remote
Assistance."

Now if "I" ask for support...that system sees both of my vista systems,
no issues whatsoever...this is what i dont get...

No firewalls on either side, even set them on DMZ on router. Linksys
router on both ends. If it was the router though why could they see
both my systems but i can't see theirs?

I know it's getting some communication through because I do get
password prompt and verified it is right password...if i input wrong
password it asks for pwd again.

Allow remote assistance is enabled on both ends.

Any ideas?

Which version of Vista does each run? I've hear that the Home Basic
version, and perhaps the Home Premium version, will not work
this way in both directions.

ok, i figured it out

re-enabled windows firewall on both sides
changed the network profile from "public" to "private"
got the external ip of the system
ran RA from start menu, used the "file" option
got the file and edited the ip to the external ip
connects fine now

seems to be for some reason RA is using internal 192.x.x.x address, so
just gotta edit it manually and it works

RA (including XP's) tend to use the internal IP which is fine for internal
support people or for people using van.
