remote assistance: XP helping Vista problem

Has anyone been able to make remote assistance work between XP and Vista? My
father just bought a new vista machine and I'm using XP Pro... I keep
getting an error message saying we can't connect, even when he emails me the
RA request.

I'm stumped.

I have an XP and Vista Machine and was having the same problem until I
can across software called crossloop
http://www.crossloop.com/index.html

Install on both machines and follow the instructions.

Very easy and safe to use PLUS it is free......

So is VNC...

But, shouldn't you be able to make RDP connections between Vista and
XP? I understand that you might have to tell Vista's "Security
Advisor" that it needs to allow the inbound or outbound connection,
but have they changed it that much?
