Remote control a new Mac with pcAnywhere?

Has anyone had success in remotely controlling
a late model Mac computer using pcAnywhere?

....from my Vista Ultimate computer.

I have a friend who owns a new MacBook Pro.

She is totally illiterate when it comes to
computers - - - has requested help, however
she lives in Hawaii.

It would be advisable to get some sort of
remote control app' on both ends so that
I could coach her on the rudiments of
operating her Mac.

Have considered using Timbuktu from Motorola,
however they do not yet have anything that
_reliably_ works with Vista.

(XP yes, Vista not yet)

Do not want to go through all the hassle of
going back to running XP, just for this project.

Thanks for any suggestions,

Mark-

Macs are perfect in every way and no one has ever had any problem learning
how to use one or with Mac hardware.

I've had smashing successes by strapping it onto a remote controlled
rocket and aiming for a solid granite wall. =)

Thanks, I forgot about VNC.

Never used VNC yet, hopefully it has some of the
bells and whistles that Timbuktu has.

....like being able to use one single phone line
for both controlling the Mac, plus simultaneous
two-way regular phone capability.

(she only has one phone line to her home)

Thanks, hope VNC works with Vista.

If I am really lucky with VNC, perhaps it will
permit simultaneous regular use of the telephone,
like Timbuktu does.
(broadband, only one phone line needed by Timbuktu)

She is a 90 year old gal who got the Mac
as a xmas gift from one of her grand-children here
in the states, but they do not seem too interested in
helping her via long distance phone calls.

I am just a friend of the family.

The kids requested that I help her, because they knew
that I do a lot of remote control work.

Problem is, I junked all of my XP stuff, strictly Vista
here right now.

Big Mistake, can't get Timbuktu to work with Vista.

Will give VNC a try.
