A couple of weeks ago there was a recommended update to my TV tuner card
(Hauppauge HVR-1600). As I never (well hardly ever) ever accept a Microsoft
Hardware update, I went to the Hauppauge site to fetch their latest and
best. Turns out I already have their latest and best (1.62.25002.0 1/2/2007)
for my card. I only install the IR remote control software, none of the
other WinTV application programs.
I then noticed that the icon in the notification area seemed different from
what I had remembered. I remember a white control with itty-bitty buttons on
it. What I currently have is a black control with itty-bitty buttons on it.
Also when I used to activate the control I got a dialogue box that allowed
me to setup some of the various buttons and would allow it to be used within
windows (move cursor, click etc.) Now the dialogue box that comes up is
basically blank with two large buttons 'Close' 'Exit IR'. OK says I to
myself, maybe I should actually upgrade the hardware from MS. Did so no
visual change in the dialogue or in Windows Media Player.
It has been several months since the last time I fiddled with the remote
control dialogue box so there have been a lot of things added and changed
since then. The remote works just fine in Windows Media Player so no
complaints there.
Question is: in WMP, how are the buttons on the remote set/changed if I ever
wanted to do so and does someone have a clue as to what happened to my 'old'
setup dialogue box for the remote.

Thanks,
Michael
